Examiners at Machakos Girls Marking centre have downed their told while marking the business pp2 citing low pay. Despite the fact that they reported at Machakos Girls over the weekend they have hardly marked even a script.
“We want at least Ksh. 68 per paper,” the examiners said amid chants of comrade power on Monday evening. The examiners have since been ordered to vacate the premises latest 6.00 am but they have vowed never to be swayed by the threats to leave until their fare is reimbursed. They were heard saying, “Tomorrow we will be here taking tea.” The examiners were heard chanting that before they are refunded their money, nothing is gonna happen there.
In an attempt by the Kenya National Examination Council boss Dr. Karogo to calm the situation fell on deaf ears of these examiners who resisted the boss. The angry crowed (Examiners) booed the boss off stage when she tried to address them on Monday.
The KNEC boss was reportedly howled up in tensed meeting on Monday evening with senior examiners and her junior secretariat staff at the marking centre in a bid to avert the crisis. This standoff has proved to derail the release of 2019 KCSE exam results.
So far no amicable consensus has been reached between the to two wrangling parties by the end of Monday when the drama began.
