According to the commission’s Act of 2012 in article 237 qualified teachers are required to be registered by the commission before they teach in any public or private school. All those teachers who have necessary requirements and documents are eligible to apply for the TSC registration certificate which bears the TSC number within a maximum of 30 days.
If any teacher aspires to teacch in any classroom in this country, the TSC registration certificate is very important. Chances of a teacher teaching in any school or getting promoted are very minimal minus this certificate.
There are qualified teachers who don’t have this registration certificate and have not applied for it since they don’t know the procedure followed to obtain this certificate. This article is going to give guidelines on how you can obtain this registration certificate and feel comfortable as a teacher in order to teach in any institution in this country.
What do you require in order to Register for this certificate?
Countercheck and ensure that you have the following documents before you start tthe application process;
(i) Certified copies of academic and professional certificates
(ii) National identity card
(iii) Bank slip
(iv) One passport size photo
(v) KRA Pin certificate
(v) Certificate of good conduct
(vi) GP69 Form
(vii) Entry and Work Permits for non-Kenyans
For new regitration ensure that you pay a non-refundable fee of Ksh. 1055 deposited to the TSC Registration account at National Bank of Kenya, Direct banking to A/C No. 01001005707400 or simple banking Banking using pay bill business number 625625 is required for processing your certificate.
TSC online registration is usually done online after which the teacher is issued with a registration certificate that bears the TSC number. Follow this procedure to register for the TSC certificate online;
– Visit the TSC service portal
– Click on the registration/activate the account tab
– You will be redirected to a new page
– Fill in the form by entering the personal and employment information including TSC number, your full names as in National ID, ID number, KRA Tax PIN, date of birth, and so on
– Create and confirm the new password that you will use to login to the system
– Attach the scanned copies of original documents where applicable
